WORKSHOP ON REDP AT SREES ON 3TH APRIAL 2013

In continuation to the earlier posting, conducted the workshop on REDP for the Rural Youth of the Krishna District on 3rd April 2013 at SREES Office at Ramavarappadu Circle Ring.

REDP WORKSHOP AT SREES ORGANIZATION

Understanding the needs and employment issues of the rural youth of Krishna District, SREES Organization has conducted Workshop on “Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programme” on 3rd at its office at Ramavarappadu Ring Centre. This is the shift from the traditional way of looking livelihoods which are mostly by way of getting traditional employment in the established sectors. 

This programme is focussed on understanding the SWOT of the rural youth, challenges and opportunities for employment, community mapping, availability of resources, need of technology, process of production & marketing, concept & preparation of project, getting linkages for input supports including finance. Group discussion among the participants emerged the areas in which they are interested to move forward to be entrepreneur with better solutions. Some of the significant areas includes: water, solar power, bakery, Xerox, sari painting, general merchant, health care, care centre for senior citizens and other allied activities. 

Giving priority for the need based areas, water and solar power has been selected and explained the total procedure starting from the concept, design, machinery, manpower, training, services, establishment, budget support, linkages with the Government & financial institutions, monitoring & evaluation, risks & ways for its minimization, and expected benefits / outcomes. Later briefly explained the success models implemented in other parts of Andhra Pradesh which made the participants to believe their strengths and got motivated to move forward. From this workshop 50 participants got the benefit and majority of them accepted to initiate in this direction.

This workshop is supported by the management & staff of SREES, and Smt. N Padma Shree, Director; G Sudheer Babu, Coordinator; N Lakshmi Narayana, Director of Geo Rehabilitation Centre, Hyderabad; N Balaji, Managing Director of Chilli Growers Cooperative Society, Hyderabad have contributed significantly.

This is the good beginning and SREES will be organizing several such workshops for the benefit of rural youth. SREES is open to listen form the people for developing need based training modules so that they can be empowered to lead better living with sustainability.
